8228 Santa Monica Blvd, West Hollywood, California 90046, United States

(323) 656-4879

Monday—Sunday: 10:00 AM—2:00 AM

Open since 1981 — and across the street from the equally as aged Circus Of Books — Gold Coast is slightly removed from the hullaballoo of the WeHo strip. Accordingly, it attracts a more approachable, less sceney, older skewing crowd. Come for the cheap drinks—stay for the bar trivia and compete on the pool table.

(818) 956-9123

Tue—Sun: 11:00 AM—1:45 AM Mon: 11:00 AM—2:00 AM

One of Glendale’s oldest bars, Dave’s on Broadway is a dark dive in an unassuming, cement building -- the oversized neon sign above its entrance the sole indicator of any activity inside. On any given night, Dave’s features karaoke, cheap drinks, and TVs for the sports-loving patrons. The bar is dim, illuminated only by small, vintage light fixtures and a string of Christmas lights, year round.

Eagle LA Bar

4219 Santa Monica Blvd, Los Angeles, California 90029, United States

(323) 669-9472

Monday—Friday: 4:00 AM—2:00 AM, Saturday—Sunday: 2:00 PM—2:00 PM

The current location of Eagle LA has served home to many gay bars over the years dating back 44 years. It was known as the Shed from 1968-1972 The Outcast from 1972-1983, the famous Gauntlet II from 1983-2005, then later, Eagle LA. Gauntlet II was in operation for 21 years. Then, in the summer of 2005 Charlie and business partner Vince decided to buy the bar with the intention of making a name change. In April 2006, Eagle LA was born, or, reborn as it may be. There was an original Eagle LA located in West Hollywood at the corner of Santa Monica Blvd. and Fairfax. It operated for 15 years and closed in 1995. Although that Eagle is of no relation to Charlie or Vince, they are proud to reestablish the Eagle LA and become the latest in a long line of Eagle bars in cities throughout the US and around the world. It has always been their mission to uphold the Leather/Uniform/Fetish traditions set forth by the infamous Eagle name and that traditions still holds true today.

Little Joy Cocktails

1477 W Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, California 90026, United States

(213) 935-8276

Monday—Sunday: 5:00 PM—2:00 AM

Revamped, refurbished and under new management, this former dive bar brings a little bit more joie de vivre (and upgraded digs) to Echo Park. There are concrete floors, a pool table, newly lacquered parquet wood bar and very clean bathrooms. For locals, this watering hole might be the best pickup spot on the Eastside. When the bar’s coveted seats (14 in total) are taken and the only two booths in the joint are at capacity, standing room allows for old-fashioned mingling in the fairly small space and a game of pool—get your name on the signup chalkboard early. The drink menu is straightforward—full bar with standard bottle selections—with eight beers on tap, including a brew called the "Glutenator" for gluten-free imbibers. Don’t ask if they make "cocktails"—you’ll be met with a blank stare before the bartender turns to take someone else’s order.
